New Horizons  is an inclusive theatre company which is dedicated to working with young adults, 17-35 years, providing a creative and innovative working environment. New Horizons is committed to inspiring and developing artistic and imaginative performers both in main stream and with learning disabilities.

The company’s work plays prominence to devising the classics, producing inspirational work, accessible to all.

The Team

Since graduating from university with a BA Hons in Dramatic Art and Dance, Cheryl has accumulated 30 years of performance and directing experience which has taken her around the UK and working in the USA. Today she resides in North London where she has established herself as a highly experienced theatre and dance practitioner working with young adults with learning difficulties.

Since becoming a Lecturer in Performing Arts 12 years ago, Cheryl launched the BTEC Performing Arts Course for Supported Learning at Barnet and Southgate College. Here she was to be awarded Most Inspirational Tutor for her work on this course, and most recently Personal Tutor of the Year.  Cheryl soon started to see some incredible talent emerging on her course and recognised the need to develop and encourage this further. Thus New Horizons Theatre Company was founded, and since it began 9 years ago it has grown from strength to strength.

Jose Forni

Jose has been involved in several productions with New Horizons as Assistant Director, including The Merchant of Venice and Wuthering Heights and King Arthur and the Knights of The Round Table. She has witnessed the company grow from strength to strength and has relished having such a great creative involvement in the company including all her stunning costumes. Even though Jose is not working directly with the company now she will always be part of our incredible team.

Joining New Horizons as their Assistant Director has been an immense achievement and to be part of this amazing, talented group. She has observed just how well the group work together and have such an amazing and unique bond. Zoe is really looking forward to seeing the performance of As You Like It and is particularly excited about the amazing and colourful 1950’s costumes.
